G’Day LA Presents Joel Sampson

G'Day LAEllie Bourke‘s quest over the duration of this story is to find out what really happened to her close friend and roommate, Joel Sampson.

That, and to find good roles that don’t involve gratuitous breast exposure, but one thing at a time, okay?

Joel hails from Boise. Hailed in the past tense, actually, since the poor guy is dead by the end of chapter 3.

Idaho is famous for their potatoes, not their comics, but Joel was well on his way to changing that. In his mind people would soon be saying “Idaho. Home of Joel Sampson. Oh, and potatoes, too.”

Six months prior to the start of this story he moved to Los Angeles at the invitation of Bart Sweeney. Bart recognised the talent and felt his career would benefit by the transplant. Joel was wedged into the guesthouse that Ellie was living in, and a friendship formed almost immediately, Ellie like the older sister helping a younger sibling find his way.

After a few months of farting around Joel got serious. Well, as serious as a comic can get. He swore off booze and drugs, put in the hours, and dedicated himself to his craft.

And he was getting attention.

A high profile comic/actor had noticed him and was ready to launch his career when Joel was found dead in his bathtub.

While Joel’s corporeal form leaves the story early, Ellie stays in touch, and ultimately solves the crime, through audio diary entries that Joel kept, his voice guiding her to the destination she needs to reach, and encouraging her in her other quest for a serious acting role.

Meet Joel, and “listen” to his words (honestly, you’ll be “reading” them until an Audiobook format is available) as Ellie hunts down the cause of his death.

Coming in June (or sooner), G’Day LA
